Steps to fix Canon Printer Error Code 5100
The Canon Pixma MX700 multifunction printer contains an LCD display that shows various error codes whenever a software or hardware issue persists. Each error code is tied to a specific type of issue to make the resolving process easier. Error code 5100 describes a physical error either incorrectly seated ink tank or with a paper jam. Troubleshooting the issue or error is a quick process that only requires a few standard troubleshooting measures.

Steps to fixCanon PIXMA IP2770 Error Code 5100:
Step 1
Press down and hold the On/Off button, which is located on the operator panel of the printer, for one second. Wait 15 seconds and then click on the button again. Attempt to scan or print a document.
Step 2
Check the paper feed tray on the front end of the Canon MX700 to see if there is any visibly paper stuck inside the printer. Open the cover of the printer by gripping the front edge of the printer and thrilling upwards.
Step 3
Grab the edge of the blocked paper and gently pull towards you to eliminate the paper from the paper feeder. Unplug the USB cable and Canon’s power cable, and switch on the printer.
Step 4
Pull off the cover tab of rear plastic and check if there is any paper jam visible or not. Grab the edge of the paper and gently pull toward you until the paper is eliminated.
Step 5
Push the rear plastic cover tab back into place, and reconnect the USB cable and power cable. Attempt to scan or print another document to see whether the error or issue is resolved or not.
Step 6
Open the cover of the printer and wait for the ink carriage to slide into view. Press the Push button on the front of the first tank ink. Pull the tank out and then push it back into place to make sure whether it is properly seated or not.
Repeat the process with the other three ink tanks, and then close the cover of the printer. Switch off the printer and then again back on the printer.
